Hi ::waves:: I'm new to the community, and I come bearing (hopefully) cute things! ;) I decided to try my hand at making phone charms - Merlin style, of course! Click the pretties to go to my journal with bigger pics & ramblings. ^_^

Also, mod, I hope this is allowed, I didn't see a tag that would work here.

I just finished sewing some clothes for my Taeyang Colin!doll... ^^;

I am really happy with the results considering this is the first time I've ever attempted to customize one of my dolls! This is what he originally looked like: CLICK!

I got him a new pair of eyes (although he'll get darker ones soon?) and a new wig to make him look more like Colin/Merlin! XD!

He's not alone, either! He's got Bradley!Doll to go on awesome adventures with around my living room! ;) I still need to fix him a better Arthur costume, though... He's currently wearing a Ken outfit. *headdesk!* Does anyone have any ideas for Arthur's costume? I have no idea what to do for chainmail!

Picture of Bradley!doll in his current Arthur get-up + MOAR MERLIN? )

I hope it's okay to post this here! I know it's not conventional crafting, but... X.x; I will be making more outfits for them as soon as I get my sewing machine back from repairs - I absolutely fail at sewing by hand. Would anyone be interested in updates on my boys? *hopeful smile!*

We're a week past the mailing date, so hopefully some of you have been receiving some packages! Comment here to tell your gifter (and the rest of us!) how awesome they and their crafts are!

(If you haven't seen your package by this time next week - November 2nd - please let me know.)

Thanks swappers! I hope everyone had fun!

I'm working on some Christmas projects for my daugther (she wants her bedroom to look like Morganna's room) and I'm wondering if there are any good sites with very good pictures from the show.

I also need a good picture of the Pendragon crest.

Thanks so much!

We'll just pretend Merlin has run off shall we? ....or been turned into skeins of yarn by an evil sorceress. :) (haven't finished him yet)

But here's Arthur in all his tiny glory. With chainmail shirt, cloak, pants, tunic, and assorted bling.

Hi crafters! So, the mailing deadline is just two weeks away, on Monday, October 19th. Please respond to this check-in post and let me know if things are moving along on schedule. If you see a problem with making the deadline, please let me know now!

A few mailing procedures to keep in mind:

1. Try to let your giftee know when you've mailed their package through email, LJ PM, LJ comment, etc. That way they can be on the lookout for it.

2. You'll want to take a picture of your items, and try to get some sort of proof of mailing from the post office (whether that's a payment receipt, customs form, delivery confirmation number, or something else). This way if something goes wrong in the mail, you'll have proof you did your part.

thanks all!

For the knitters out there, the Merlin group on Ravelry is kicking off the new series with a Knit-a-Long of Morgana's fingerless gloves! Come join if you're interested!

Also, how are your craft swap projects coming? Remember, mailing date is October 19th, one month away! If there's anything you need (information about your giftee, etc), just let me know.

A quick note re: the craft swap: I should be emailing your assignments in the next couple of days. It'll come from significantowl @ yahoo to the email you provided (subject line craft swap). If you don't see anything by Monday, give me a shout, here or at my email.

Interested in participating in our first craft swap? Check out this post and sign up by Wednesday, August 19th!

I'm going to the BFI Merlin screening next month and I wanted something silly to wear. And then I got this idea into my head that wouldn't go away. So I found a workable top, some brightly coloured embroidery thread and decided that I hadn't done any needlework in far too long a time.

The result is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek Gwen/Morgana slogan shirt:

This is what happens when you mix Merlin DVDs, extreme boredom and mad needlework skillz... )

Hullo Merlin crafters!

I'm just posting to let you know about a community that you may be interested in.

[info]geekcrafts is multifandom group for crafts of all varieties. We share patterns, things we have made, tutorials, and awesome nerdy crafts that we find other places.

We'd love to see some Merlin crafts there!

[livejournal.com profile] craftalot will be hosting its first craft swap! Let's all make Merlin things for each other!

Sign-up: by Wednesday, August 19th

Mailing date: by Monday, October 19th

That gives you two weeks to sign up, and two months to create & mail your craft.

Sign up info under cut )

I'll be making another post later outlining mailing procedures. Short version: we WILL be collecting feedback. On communication, whether or not a swap was fulfilled, whether items were shipped on time and safely, etc. We'll be recommending you take pictures of your package before you send it, and that you use Delivery Confirmation.

Questions? Comments? While I'm new to swap organizing, I'm used to modding exchanges (just, usually they're of fic) and I think I have a good handle on mailing issues from being in BPALdom. But there may well be something I've missed, and if so, please say!

And finally, many thanks [livejournal.com profile] tonyans1975 for the craft swap suggestion!

Do you know if there has been or is a Merlin craft swap planned?  I checked craftster and didn't see anything.  I think it would be fun to participate in one.

Hi. I made these using the cricut paper cutter and Paper Doll Dress Up (PDDU) cartridge.

Hey, Merlin fans! [livejournal.com profile] significantowl reminded me about this community today, so I thought I'd post this here. ;)

I started this a few months ago and only actually got around to finishing it yesterday!! I know someone's sort of beaten me to it in the shirt department, but this is a sort of different process, so. There.

Photobucket

Click on the photo- it's a bit of rambling about my process, since I've been whining about it to my flist for...about two months. Lulz. But you can skip that and head straight to the bottom of the page, if you want, for the finished project.

I'm not sure whether or not this counts for the craft-a-long or not, but it's Pendragon-related ;-)

I've stencilled the shield design on a t-shirt for the Kid, as seen here:

Also a behind the scenes look (aka, tutorial, hehe) at my journal here.

Welcoming One and All

To the Very First

[livejournal.com profile] craftalot Craft-a-Long!

As per the results of our poll, our theme is The People of Camelot. Run wild with it! This could include representations of the characters in whatever medium you choose (maybe you make dolls, maybe you cross-stitch, maybe you bake gingerbread people...) It could also include crafts inspired by the characters, such as Morgana-esque jewelry, knitted gauntlets for Arthur, or of course, the neckerchief!

The craft-a-long will continue through April 9th. Feel free to share FO's and UFO's at any time! Remember your fellow Merlin crafters are always here to provide encouragement, inspiration, and assistance!

(So... anyone already know what they're going to make?)

eta: and why yes I see how I misspelled villains there. *facepalm*
[identity profile] ad-exia.livejournal.com
I made Merlin and Arthur plushies a while ago; I had a request to make Gwen and Morgana, so I thought I would share pictures of them now that I've finally finished! I still hope to make Uther and Gaius one day!

A few pictures under here! )

The new year and the long hiatus are upon us... anyone interested in a craft-a-long to help stave off Merlin withdrawal?

Since we're all into different crafts, I think we'd need to come up some kind of theme that we could work on in our own favorite mediums.

a few things I thought of:

the people of Camelot (pick your favorite character)
the Dragon
the weapons of Camelot (incl. Excalibur)
the clothes of Camelot (incl. the neckerchief, of course!)
villains & monsters

What about you? Got a great theme idea to share? If we can get together a nice list of options, I'll put together a poll to help us choose.

Also, how long do you think the first craft-a-long should last? Just a guess, I'm thinking two months or so?
